Bob Yapchanyk - Guitars, Backing Vocals
The Band

Bob Yapchanyk, Silver Spade guitarist
Bob first discovered his musical abilities at the tender age of 4, when his parents bought him a tiny red plastic one-octave keyboard. Bob's family quickly realized his remarkable talent as they heard and watched him perform songs from the television and video games by ear. Bob got a larger keyboard for his 6th birthday and continued to hone his tremendous musical skills. At 10, Bob began taking piano lessons under the incredible musicianship of Frank Louis Pisani, with whom he still keeps in touch with today. During his lessons, Bob passed six solo piano examinations monitored by Trinity College of London. Also during these years - at the age of 14 - Bob began to use his musical knowledge to teach himself to play guitar. Bob spent the next couple of years practicing relentlessly and listening to guitar greats like Yngwie Malmsteen, Richie Sambora, Slash, Joe Satriani.  Within two years, he became a phenomenal guitarist and played as if he had been trained on the guitar since childhood.

In 2002, Bob was ready to do something with his guitar talent.  That's when he joined his brother Rick and long-time musical partner Pete Simone to create the band that would be Silver Spade.  His deep background of music theory and unique range of influences helped Bob contribute greatly to the original sound of Silver Spade.  "My goal in my music writing is to constantly challenge myself," said Bob, "It's hard to write songs that are musically engaging for all different levels of music listeners, but that's what I aim for."
